Tankless Water Heaters | No Flames & No Fumes

Tankless water heaters are affordable and available in multiple sizes and brands. A tankless water heater in a home is a great way to lower energy costs. A tankless water heater is typically mounted on a wall and connected to a home’s water supply. The unit should run for many years without any major problems. A problem that does occur will require the assistance of a licensed plumber. Most of the problems you may find with the unit are usually due to exterior factors.

Installation of a tankless water heater is bit tricky, but the pay off in energy savings and instant hot water is worth it all. Our licensed professionals can provide you with the best option for your home or business. We take into account all factors including use, space of installation, proper venting, and exsisting connections. Call Mid-Town Plumbing for a tankless water heater repair or installation!

Benefits of Tankless Water Heaters

  • Estimated to use 10-20% less energy than conventional tank-type water heaters, while offering a continuous supply of hot water.

  • Occupies less floor space than a conventional water heater. At roughly the size of a carry-on suitcase, a tankless water heater will free up valuable storage space in your home. They also allow you the option to install in other non-traditional locations like closets and laundry rooms. In some cases, larger homes can replace two tank water heaters with a single tankless unit.

  • The equipment is durable and, since it doesn't store water, is subject to less corrosion than a conventional water heater, thereby lasting longer. Tankless water heaters are known for quality, and have a longer life span of up to twice as long as a traditional tank.

  • Your new water heater may offer opportunity for Tax Credits - Homeowners who have made energy-efficient improvements, including an upgrade to a Tankless Water Heater, may qualify for a $300 US federal tax credit.

  • It may also offer you an increased home value - According to a study conducted by Zillow, homes with tankless water heaters sold for 4% more than their expected value. So if you are looking to increase your home's value, adding a tankless water heater is a great option. Need a tankless water heater installation or a tankless water heater replacement? Electric Water Heaters | Installation, Service & Repair

Innovative water heating products have always been a Mid-town Plumbing focus. We are Central Arkansas' leading water heater installation and repair company. Is your water heater leaking? Call us!

Electric water heaters are very similar to the gas water heater specifications, however they do not require exterior venting and are powered by electricity only. Unlike a tank that always keeps a large amount of water stored at full temperature, an electric water heater is inactive until there is a demand for hot water. Once the unit senses there is water flowing through it, it activates its heating elements to quickly get the water up to the desired temperature. This demand could be from a sink, shower, dishwasher or washing machine, for example. Electric water heaters offer major energy savings, are compact and can be installed nearly anywhere plumbing allows. Do you need a water heater free estimate? Call today!

Gas Water Heaters | Installation, Service & Repair

Gas water heaters for your residence come with a 6 to 12 year warranty depending on the brand and size. They can be fed by either natural gas or propane. The size for a gas water heater can range from 19 gallons up to 100 gallons. For commerical offices and businesses, a gas water heater will come with a different warranty period and can vary in size up to 500 gallons. Our plumbing professionals can provide you with the best option for your business.

A conventional water heater heats a tank of water and keeps that tank hot at all times. The heating section will cycle as needed to keep the water in the desired temperature range, even when it’s not in use for extended periods. The tanked water heater is limited to providing the water already heated, and once it is empty, it cannot instantly heat water.

The benefits of Gas Water Heaters include keeping hot water when the power goes out, traditional plumbing and long lasting systems.

General Water Heater Maintenance

We recommend flushing and draining your water heater once a year to prevent sediment build up. This service can be provided by our team or by the homeowner. Yearly maintenace can improve the efficency of the water heater and extends the life of the unit. A properly maintained tank water heater can work well for 15 years.

Does Your Water Heater Make Noise?

Our experts are well prepared to help you determine what could be causing it, as it could result from any of the following sources. Call us today for a water heater repair.

Sediment - If you hear your water heater is making crackling, popping or rumbling sounds, then it’s a problem with built up sediments in the tank. To fix this, if your water heater is under ten years old, you can get away with using a deliming mixture to flush the sediment out of the tank and then flush and drain your water heater.

Thermostat - When you do flush the tank if it’s still making noises, you may want to check the thermostat. If your thermostat is set at 125 degrees or higher, the noises may be created by the expansion and contraction of the tank from the heat. Reduce your thermostat setting to 120 degrees or lower (this is recommended to prevent accidental scalding) and then listen to see if the noise continues.

Age – If your water heater is over 10 years old, it could actually cause problems in the tank to try and delime it. It’s probably time to research what kind you want next and prepare for a water heater replacement.

Other signs you may need a repair or replacement include your water heater's pilot light went out, your water is not hot, or your water heater is leaking.
